Before I hit the sheets tonight, I thought I’d drop a couple links in your laps.

For those of you who like the String Quartet Tribute series, or just want to catch some samples, Kofi’s Hat put a few of them up today, including the Killers, Nirvana, and Radiohead.  Good for a listen, at least.

Bored?  Go check what song was number one when you were born.  Still bored?  Try more dates, your brothers, sisters, anniversaries, etc.  Go wild!

I don’t care what people say about MadTV and it’s inferiority when compared to SNL, every now and then a skit comes along that just about makes me pee my pants in hilarity.  This particular skit just happens to be one.  In fact, I think this is one of my favorites skits of all time.  Frank Caliendo does a great John Madden impression.

I kicked some serious butt this semester. Check this out.

Tom Vek This guy over here is Tom Vek, and he’s checking in courtesy of EachNoteSecure. Pretty cool guy from London, only 24 years old. Go check out his myspace. While I’m not head over heels for the songs, I definitely like “I Ain’t Saying My Goodbyes” (which you can download over at ENS) and If You Want. Sort of in the vein of The Killers, but not quite. And I think he did everything himself. Anyway, it’s fun for a listen.

Other stuff I’ve found: AnAquariumDrunkard made a post about The Decemberists’ Colin Meloy singing Morissey songs. And what indie/emo lover doesn’t like the Moz? I enjoyed these thoroughly. Definitely go listen to these.

Ok, this got passed to me via one of the blogs I check. Make sure you watch this, just in case you missed SNL last week. Narnia Rap

Then I found out about this amazing New Zealand duo via Adan. Flight of the Concords is a hilarious folk/comedy duo. You can download their HBO Special ‘One Night Stand’ (via Megauploads, just wait like 30 seconds), and then someone has put up a nice little Audio/Video collection of songs and appearances that I highly recommend you check out. Definitely watch the videos on that site.

Since Sunday is a day of rest, what better way to celebrate that than a boatload of music for you to download? That’s right, I keep finding more and more stuff. Here’s part of today’s haul.

The 8bitpeoples are a collective that makes music using our beloved 8bit sound producers, old video game systems. And since video games and Christmas go hand in hand (right?), go download The 8bits of Christmas!

I’ve been spending a lot of time browsing and discovering music/mp3 blogs, and in doing so I’ve come across a lot of cool stuff, including The Silence Xperiment’s mashup of Queen and 50 Cent, entitled Q-Unit. It’s nothing amazing, but it’s fun.

I couldn’t believe my eyes when I stumbled across this, but the Live Music Archive is an awesome project put together to preserve Live music, and they’ve got some awesome artists on there, with tons of shows. Check it out.

Mashups are fun, D12 is fun, and GnR is fun. So put all three together, and you get a whole lot of fun. Download Disfunctional DJ’s mashup Sweet Band O’ Mine. I promise, it’s worth it.

Well, that’s all that I’ve got for you right now, but enjoy.

What’s on Bush’s iPod? This is just ridiculous.

Hello, REAL FOOTBALL (er, I mean, soccer)! Houston’s the new home for the MLS’s team on-the-move from San Jose. Previous, less successful leagues have had teams call Houston home with names including the Stars, Hurricane, Dynamos, Alliance, Tornados, Hotshots, Toros, and Summit. Personally, I like the Toros, although I think you’ve got to call them the ‘Texas Toros’ if you do that. In light of recent events along our coast, Hurricane is probably not the best idea, and Stars or Summit are too “Space City” themed. Any ideas for a name?

If you like good indie music, or you’re just an Elliott Smith fan, I found B-Sides, so go enjoy.

I’ll post a real update on what’s happening sometime later this week. Just know that I’ve been jamming and hanging out with friends, oh and downloading stuff.

Sweet cupping cakes, it’s Hic-A-Doo-La!  Yessiree, I found a site with tons of song clips from Family Guy, so go download them!

I drove home tonight, and it’s pretty much the same as when I left it.  Well, what did I expect?  Not too much from it, I guess.  Tomorrow I get to hang out with friends, and I found out that they’re almost done with school too.  Mickey’s been recording electronic music, so I might be able to get in on that.  I’m going to try to get started on my own recording tomorrow.  At least to get some poetry recorded.

Today’s Pearls Before Swine comic is hilarious. I love Stephen Pastis.

In stumbling around for more Sufjan Stevens’ stuff today I found a live show for download over at this blog.

Wow, I’ve made it up ’till 6:30 am. Don’t expect to see me in the morning.

It feels so good to be done with school. But the wierdest thing is that I probably won’t have to take any tests next semester. My collegiate career as I know it is practically over and done with.

Anyway, here’s a few things that I wanted to share with you:
Sujan Stevens’ Christmas Albums. – Go download these, they’re amazing. So is Sufjan. I love Christmas music from bands that I listen to normally.

At the same time, check out this Penny Arcade comic from last week.

And finally, everyone needs to see The Chronicles of Narnia, which I saw Thursday. Go watch the trailer, I get goosebumps just watching it.

So I’m done with school for the semester. I had my two final exams today, and that’s it. This morning I woke up and got a new scarf from Old Navy before I went over to Zachary to study with Neil. Two hours of writing crap on the white board, and then when my prof shows up she says “Oh my god, I’m going to feel horrible erasing this.” I feel god about the test, but the best part of my day was my Social Psychology exam. I had it filled out before I even got the test. 50 straight questions with B for an answer. There’s a running contest at Wesley to figure out how many questions I got right. Winner gets a coffee/drink of choice on me.

What am I doing now? Sitting up at 3 AM watching the first season of Scrubs. I can’t sleep, because I got coffee at 1, I already ate an entire bag of popcorn, and I can’t do what I really want to do, which is write… Just write and write and write, and I’ve got no inspiration at the moment.

But I’m done so that’s what counts. Sometime soon, I hope to go to Austin and work with Walker on a new design for my book. I feel like I should be doing something much more productive. Ah well, such is life.
